The Mammut Sports Group has been leading the innovation in technical ski apparel for over half a century. Prior to that, since 1867, Mammuts traditions were born in Switzerland, by a Swiss man names Kaspar Tanner. A master rope maker providing the very best in woven ropes to mountain climbing enthusiasts. Soon the Mammut family expanded its product base by making technical jackets to be used in the mountains.  In 1978 Mammut created its first Gore-tex jackets and pants, aptly names the “Altitude” range. A robust and abrasive resistant 3-layer GoreTex jacket with enhanced breathability, the Nordwand Pro is a go-to jacket for any activity in the mountains.  It incorporates the Monk hood system; with just two adjustments is all it takes to achieve a perfect fit around the head, with or without a helmet. It also has frontreach sleeves, ergonomically tailored to skiing movements. As in any technical ski jacket, the Norwand Pro comes with a detachable snow skirt designed to stay securely in place, with double button facing for individual adjustment. Another winner in the Mammut line of jackets is the Ultimate Hoody. Built with Windstopper material that Mammut has developed exclusively with Gore, it features a 2-tone backing, which gives the jacket a unique and modern look. Furthermore, all the drawstrings have been fitted on the inside to ensure that nothing gets in the way during wind and bad weather. The long full side zip, a unique feature of the jacket, has been kept in place, allowing for easy access to your mid layer.  Super cool color options make this piece a favorite for men and women. For the more reasonable price point, the Stoney GTX jacket is the way to go. Made from 3layer GoreTex, The Stoney GTX has a multitude of pockets, powder skirt, goggle storage, goggle wipe and audio insert. A detachable hood gives yet another option to a multi-use jacket.

Mammut pants exhibit the same bomber construction as the jackets. The Norwand Pro pant is built just like the Norwand Pro jacket, and is also a part of the exclusive Eiger collection. A strong 3 layer Gore-Tex material, with abrasion resistant nylon that is also very breathable.  A special wide waistband adjustment gives the perfect fit to any sized skier. Integrated snow gaiters with anti-slip grip prevent any snow or moisture from getting in. The extra wide, secure Velcro adjustment can be tailored to suit alpine and ski boots alike.  In the snow collection, and the matching pant for the Stoney GTX jacket is the Stoney Pant. A comfortable 4way stretch ski pant, the Stoney pant delivers everything a skier needs with a reasonable price point. It’s filled with Thinsulate insulation, but for its lightweight fill it’s one of the warmest pants Mammut makes. Tailored to a relaxed fit, it matches the Stoney GTX jacket as well as many other Mammut Snow Collection jackets. The women’s version of this pant is the Mitteligi Pro Pant. Tailored to fit a women’s physique is stands up against any type of weather.  A classic fitted nylon pant, the Metteligi Pro stands up to any type of weather condition but still looks fantastic. Another pant favored by women and a more reasonable price point is the Vail pant. An insulated four way stretch nylon, fitted yet relaxed, the Vail Pant is the go-to pant for any jacket combination. Filled with Thinsulate insulation, which is low bulk, lightweight and wicks away moisture, the Vail pant can withstand cold temperatures and wet snow days. It comes in a variety of colors, matching perfectly with all of Mammut’s ladies jacket options.

The final accoutrement to a skier’s outfit is Mammuts mid-layers and pulls.  As the first layer to the body it is crucial to have the perfect blend of breathability, warmth, and comfort. For women the Schneefeld Zip Pull.  It has the lightest weight to highest insulation ratio. This technical innovation convinces with excellent performance values as well as its small and light packing volume. It is the ideal second layer for cold days in alpine mountain sports.  Light fleece jumper made from Polartec Power Dry with optimized heat/weight ratio, ideal as a first layer but can be used over a base layer. It has a neat flat-lock design for all seams, made from strongly entwined polyester yarn. A covered chin protector with flat, nonprotruding edge, heat-treated using laser cut keeps all seams from unraveling. In addition the high collar gives optimal neck protection.  On the mens side of mid-layers the Moench Longsleeve is the perfect layering piece. Made from similar Polartec Power Stretch material, it has a tailored slim fit, flat lock design on all seams, and a half zip for quick ventilation.
