Aspen Snowmass Ski App - Technology Enhanced Skiing
Make the Most of Your Aspen Ski Season
Every year new technology comes out in the ski arena, some things make a big difference in how we interact with the mountains and others maybe not so much.
This year Aspen Skiing Company has come out with a new version or their own app and we really think it will be a game changer in how you ski.
One of the new features we think will be a huge hit among everyone is the Year-Over-Year Bowl Lap Tracking. Anyone who knows The Power of Four (the nickname for the collection of four mountains that make up the Aspen Skiing Company: Aspen, Aspen Highlands, Snowmass, and Buttermilk) knows that some of the best skiing can be found in Highlands Bowl. Facing north and topping out at 12,000 feet, the snow up there is always light and fluffy, and as it is exclusive terrain, it never gets tracked out. The Bowl always seems to get twice the amount of snow compared to what the other mountains report, which is often due to wind loading but may also be thanks to Mother Nature rewarding skiers who make the tough hike. Make no mistake, the hike is difficult. Carrying your skis and walking in knee-deep steps at that altitude is no joke. This is why so many locals and visitors alike wear the number of bowl laps they get in a given season or ski trip like a badge of honor. Now, with this new feature, you can back up those claims when you get back home.
It keeps giving. Once the day is done, there is still a nightlife's worth of things to do in Aspen and Snowmass. You also have a complete activities and events calendar at your fingertips, so you always know where the action is. As you can see, in this case, technology really will make a difference in how you experience all that this wonderful mountain town has to offer. While you are here, stop by the Aspen ski shop, and we can show you how to make this app work best for you.
