The e-Race Evo takes a different approach — it keeps the real race-room engineering intact and instead softens how that power gets delivered, so a strong recreational skier can actually access it without their legs giving out by lunch.
At 68mm underfoot, this is a narrow, purpose-built carver that wants firm snow and doesn't apologize for it. Full camber and a stiff, flat tail mean it bites hard the instant you tip it on edge — the harder and icier the groomer, the more this ski seems to enjoy itself. It's not interested in soft snow or forgiving you for a lazy line; it rewards commitment and punishes hesitation, in the way any proper race-inspired ski should.
What makes the Evo distinct from its more hardcore Pro sibling is the plate underneath the boot. Instead of the stiffer, more demanding race plate, the Evo runs a softer setup that takes some of the edge off without dulling the performance — you still get that locked-in, precise feel through the turn, just without needing World Cup legs to unlock it. Inside, a wood core reinforced with titanal and a strip of graphene keeps the construction light and lively while staying stiff enough to hold its shape at speed, and Head's electronic vibration-damping tech quietly smooths out the chatter so the ride stays composed even when the snow isn't perfect.
The turn shape sits in a sweet spot too — tight enough for quick, snappy short turns, but with enough range to open up into bigger, faster arcs when you want to let it run. It's the kind of ski built for someone who used to race, or wishes they had, and wants that same feeling every time they load the chair — minus the gates.
